I didn't believe it when I first became a Realtor and my colleagues told me that the Woodland real estate market cools WAY down every year during the Yolo County Fair. I actually thought they were "pranking" me. But, as the years have passed, I must admit, they were telling the truth. During the middle of August, every year, we see a cooling until after Labor Day and then we see a couple of very busy months.
I'm not quite sure that I buy into the fact that this happens BECAUSE of the fair. Part of me wants to believe that this happens because people get ready for school to start and put any thoughts of moving on the back burner until their kids are settled in to their new routines. But, who knows... maybe Woodland just puts everything on hold for the fair. It's kind of fun to think that the fair could be the reason for a short cool-down every year.
With that in mind, I am bracing myself for the craziness that September usually brings. As of Tuesday, there are 77 houses on the market in Woodland. The inventory is moving quickly if it is priced to sell. And, we will see that happen even MORE in the next few weeks. If you, or someone you know is looking to SELL their home, the timing is very good during the months of September and October as inventory is always very low and buyers are in a rush to get into a place before the holiday season sets in.
Please pass my information along if you know someone that could use advice on the sale of their home!
